"Every Home A Classroom" ^TM TechCamp  2K8 (2008)

The ComputerCorps "Every-Home-A-Classroom" ^TM TechCamp is an annual summer program for youth 10-15 years old.   For the past 8 years, this 2-week program gives kids the opportunity to learn about computer recycling, testing and assembly while building a computer system they can take home or give to a needy family at the end of camp.  

This year, five separate two-week camps will be offered throughout the summer in Carson City, NV with each camp consisting of up to 18 kids. Daily activities include “learning”, “doing” and “having fun” sessions taking place for 3 hours a day.

The Starting Dates for the "Every Home A Classroom" TechCamp 2K8 (2008) are:

   TechCamp Alpha  --  June 9th - June 20th ( C L O S E D  for Registration )
   TechCamp Bravo  --  June 23rd - July 3rd ( C L O S E D  for Registration)
   TechCamp Charlie  --  July 7th - July 18th ( C L O S E D  for Registration)
   TechCamp Delta  --  July 21st - August 1st ( C L O S E D  for Registration )
   TechCamp Echo  --  August 4th - August 15th ( O P E N  for Registration )

The tuition for the TechCamp is $450 and includes all materials, tools, snacks, TechCamp shirts and a 2 Gigahertz+ Pentium 4 computer system which the child builds during the camp. 

Scholarships:  Low-income families are encouraged to apply as some scholarships are available from businesses and service organizations.

Parents are encouraged to participate as counselors and teachers and adult volunteers are always welcome to participate.

"Every Home A Classroom" ^TM TechCamp  2K8 Sponsors Needed

Sponsors (individuals, businesses and service organizations) are needed for TechCamp 2K8 to encourage families with limited funds to apply for scholarships for their children who want to attend camp.

"Every Home A Classroom" ^TM Computer Store and Distribution Center

ComputerCorps has opened the "Every-Home-A-Classroom" ^TM Computer Store and Distribution Center.   

The Carson City, Nevada facility is located at the ComputerCorps Technology Learning Center (TLC) at 6373 US Hwy 50 East.  Store hours are Tuesday thru Saturday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Get a high-speed, low-cost computer for your family, a friend or someone in need.  Complete Onsite Service is available for businesses and other non-profit organizations.  Training Classes & Programs are available for kids from the ages of 9 to 90 years old.  Volunteers, Teachers and Donations are Needed.

Proceeds from our “Computer Store” help support projects that bring the benefits of computer technology and training to under-served families.

"Every Home A Classroom" ^TM (Via Volunteering)

"Every Home A Classroom" ^TM (Via Schools)

"Every Home A Classroom" ^TM (via Schools) is a program administered through the individual schools by which families of school aged children can qualify for a free computer system.  This program is currently available to all schools in Nevada.  ComputerCorps is in the process of developing programs with other states and is always seeking new relationships.

The current requirements for families (with school aged children) that want to participant in this program are as follows:
1.  There is currently no working computer in the household.
2.  There is a financial need.
3.  They have been residents of the community for 6 months.
4.  Each member of the family (9 years or older) that uses the computer must contribute 10 hours of community service at the school or organization of their choice..

            The MAR License is the Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher license agreement that needs to be submitted with each "Every Home A Classroom" applicant before they receive their new computer from their school counselor.
